Lewis Raymond Taylor: The Psychopath Life Coach on Netflix, Business Strategy, and Mastering Anxiety

In this episode of the Beyond the Boardroom podcast, Aleksandra explores a provocative question: Can psychopathy be a business superpower? Her guest is Lewis Raymond Taylor, a man who defies the typical CEO profile. He is a diagnosed psychopath, a former prisoner, and now the CEO of The Coaching Masters the subject of the documentary The Psychopath Life Coach which is available to watch on Netflix. Learn more about Lewis's rise from violence to life coach on our blog article.

Lewis joins Aleksandra to dismantle the stigma surrounding his diagnosis, framing it not as a limitation but as a unique "neurodivergence" that offers distinct advantages in the high-stakes world of business. Throughout the episode, he breaks down how he built a multimillion-pound empire by stripping away emotion and relying on pure, cold logic. He also shares his ambitious plans to disrupt the global education system and offers surprising advice for those struggling with anxiety and fear.

The Psychopath Life Coach: Turning a Label into a Brand

Lewis has successfully pivoted from a violent past to becoming a "Penguin author" and a high-performance coach recognized by Forbes. On the podcast, he discusses his documentary, The Psychopath Life Coach. While the title is sensationalist, Lewis views it through a lens of marketing strategy. He explains that his diagnosis of Antisocial Personality Disorder (ASPD) allows him to operate without the fear and emotional "noise" that holds others back.

"I'm logic first... it gives me a platform to educate and inspire and what it's called doesn't, doesn't bother me."

The "Psychopath Advantage" in Business

His lack of emotional empathy, he argues, is a major asset in the business world. During the episode, he engages in a fascinating coaching dynamic with Aleksandra King. While Aleksandra describes her anxious mind as a "chess board" filled with 15 different scenarios-many of these catastrophic. Lewis describes his mind as a strategic map: he sees the goal and the logical steps to get there, devoid of fear, doubt, or emotional interference.

He advises Aleksandra and listeners to "block out the noise" of anxiety. He views fear as an unnecessary distraction that turns people to "stone," preventing them from climbing their personal mountain. A lack of fear benefits in 3 key ways:

1. Strategic Mapping

Lewis sees the goal and the logical steps to get there, devoid of doubt.

2. Emotional Detachment

He does not take compliments or insults seriously, allowing him to remain neutral and focused on execution.

3. Action Over Worry

He argues that worrying about scenarios that haven't happened is "bizarre" and inefficient.

Disrupting the Education System

Lewis’s business ambitions extend beyond coaching; he is on a mission to disrupt traditional education. He criticizes the current system for failing to teach self-understanding. Motivated by a TV presenter who tried to discredit him for lacking academic qualifications, Lewis completed a PhD in Transformational Education.

His company is now working to create alternative degrees that focus on "authentic" and "relevant" learning, aiming to help neurodiverse individuals who, like his younger self, are left behind by standardised testing.

"If someone had just taught me about myself, then I would've been able to unlock everything after that easily."

Advice for the Anxious Mind

Lewis’s advice to Aleksandra highlights the core philosophy of his coaching business:

Identify the Noise: Recognise that anxiety is often a creation of scenarios that do not exist.

Focus on Logic: Replace emotional reactions with logical steps.

Execute Relentlessly: Like climbing a mountain, focus only on the next step and ignore the "gremlins" of doubt.
